Our History
We started Continental Records more than 45 years ago in Brampton ON and
continued there for about 25 years. In 1999 we moved our location to Mississauga ON where we are now located. We've always specialized in the sale of brand-new 45 RPM records.
In 2001 (after we were on the internet) we added unique oldies CDs (50s, 60s,70s) to our available inventory.
Before the "net" we ran our business by publishing a new catalog annually. In 1989 we sold 6000 copies of our final catalog which had more than 10,000 45 RPM listings.
At the time we had an inventory that exceeded 100,000 45s and four part-time employees.
Our customer base has changed significantly in the past 15 years. For the first 30 years our customers included radio stations and record collectors.
We still sell to a few record collectors currently but the majority of our 45 RPM sales are to juke-box owners.
Our current inventory exceeds more than 10,000 45 RPM titles / 50,000+ records. In our 45+ years of business we have sold more than 1,000,000 brand-new
45 RPM records and more than 100,000 oldies CDs.
I love working in ths business!
Enjoy the tour.
